Ian White
Board evaluator | consultant
mediator | executive coach
I am a consultant specialising in board evaluation and also act as an executive coach, mediator/facilitator, and trainer. My clients range from FTSE 100 companies to mid-sized charities and every type of organisation in between. My principal aim is to help boards and senior management enhance their performance and thereby improve the organisations they lead.
I have developed my practice because in my former career as a senior executive, I saw many examples of boards and senior management teams failing to perform to their full potential. Utilising my previous executive experience, as well as my skills as a board level consultant, my objective is to enhance both team and individual performance.
My experience
I have been the chief legal officer and company secretary for both listed and major private companies. While I have spent most of my career as a lawyer, I have spent some time working as a strategy consultant. I now work as a consultant, coach, trainer and facilitator. My previous experience has led me to develop an expertise in corporate governance and working with boards on effectiveness, enhancement and performance. I also work with directors and lawyers on training and development. While most of my work takes place in the corporate sector, I have also undertaken assignments in the not-for-profit and public sectors. As well as being a lawyer I have an MBA from Ashridge Business School, have a coaching qualification, and am a CEDR (Centre for Dispute Resolution) accredited mediator. I am also currently training in how to assess psychometric questionnaires.
