Coaching is an opportunity for high-achieving individuals to accelerate their growth, learning and effectiveness.
Coaching works particularly well in situations where someone has identified a need, for example:
- specific projects – getting started on a major project or upcoming event
- promotion – getting to grips with a new role or responsibility
- leadership skills – tackling individual or team performance
It can also be helpful for an individual to work with a coach on an ongoing basis, not for a particular challenge, where the coach acts as a sounding board and support. This is sometimes referred to as mentoring.
My experience as a coach
I am currently a member of Sherwood PSF Consulting.
I trained in 2012/13 with Coaching Development and hold their Coaching Development Certificate in Professional Coaching Skills (accredited training hours by the International Coach Federation). I have coached a number of senior individuals on how to enhance their performance or reach certain objectives. My style is to listen and not to get in the way of the client.
I have coached a range of individuals with different backgrounds and objectives. Examples include helping senior executives enhance their performance sufficiently to be promoted to the executive team of a major corporate.
